Dans les cas avanc\u00e9s (cataracte m\u00fbre), le cristallin peut prendre une teinte blanche ou brun fonc\u00e9. La forme la plus courante est la cataracte li\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e2ge, qui se d\u00e9veloppe g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement de mani\u00e8re progressive sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es, voire plusieurs d\u00e9cennies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La cataracte est l'une des principales causes de c\u00e9cit\u00e9 et de d\u00e9ficience visuelle \u00e9vitables au Cameroun et en Afrique en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Un \u00e9blouissement excessif, une difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 distinguer les couleurs, une vision floue ou trouble, notamment en cas de forte luminosit\u00e9, et, dans certains cas, une c\u00e9cit\u00e9 totale de l'\u0153il atteint font partie des sympt\u00f4mes que peuvent pr\u00e9senter les patients atteints de cataracte.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Certains patients atteints de cataracte en Afrique de l'Ouest ont compar\u00e9 la baisse de leur vision \u00e0 la forte r\u00e9duction de la visibilit\u00e9 provoqu\u00e9e par la poussi\u00e8re lors de la saison de l'harmattan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La photo de droite illustre le type de vision qu'un patient atteint d'une cataracte avanc\u00e9e pourrait avoir, par opposition \u00e0 celle d'une personne ayant un \u0153il en bonne sant\u00e9 ou d'un \u0153il ayant subi une op\u00e9ration de la cataracte (\u00e0 gauche).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"356\" src=\"https:\/\/henrynkumbe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/image.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-572\" srcset=\"https:\/\/henrynkumbe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/image.jpeg 640w, https:\/\/henrynkumbe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/image-300x167.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/henrynkumbe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/image-600x334.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cataract is a loss of transparency of the eye\u2019s natural lens.
